Beautiful original antique wooden wall telephone with nickel bells, battery box and writing table made by L. M. Ericsson company Stockholm, Sweden.
The phone has a magneto and a crank to make calls and has still his original fabric cable.
The batterycover is wood and metal. The painting technique on the metal is "graining" it's the practice of imitating wood grain on a non-wood surface. Graining was common in the 19th century,
serial number 1837144, this means that the phone was made in 1921 bij LM Ericsson Mfg, Stockholm
In 1878 Lars Magnus Ericsson began making and selling his own telephone equipment, he made an agreement to supply telephones and switchboards to Sweden's first telecommunications operating company, Stockholms Allmänna Telefonaktiebolag.
