A sculpture of a Madonna with the Child in polychrome wood - Wood - Mid 16th century
- Great quality carving in the manner of the great Spanish masters of the 16th century sculpture. The artwork quietly follows the Italian and Flemish ways while incorporating a great deal of late Gothic ideas. The characterization of the figure follows an axial composition, while the face and most of the hair have been thoroughly modelled, although the hyeratism of the sculpture is more than evident.
- Some ancient wormholes may be seen, although this is common thing for Northern Spanish sculpture.
- The sculpture is 53 cm tall, with maximum width and depth of 22 and 13 cm.
- Origin: Private collection in Madrid.
- The work keeps most of its original polychromy although some parts lack, most notably the right hand.
