Exceptional museum piece on Catawiki.

Chief Sceptre presenting the bust of a dignitary, with a flattened torso ornamented with a beautiful decoration of incised symbols.
The face with a hieratic expression is topped by a hairdo, typical of tribal chiefs.

Hardwood, ancient honey and reddish patina of wear.
Chokwe, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola - Early 20th century.
Dimensions: 66 x 9 cm

Provenance:

- Former private collection, Liège.

- Former collection of the Renaud Riley Gallery, Brussels.
