Antique and rare Ghendje rug, knitted in this region located in the middle of Caucasus, bordering the territory of Kazakh to the west, Karabagh to the south and the territory of Shirwan to the north-east. In long-fibred highland wool like in the old Kazakhs, inside a lattice surrounded by red is an antique symbol, archaic, symbolising two-headed birds. Background in cobalt blue (rare in Ghendje rugs), simple frame round the edge and very striking in bright and clear colours, rare external colour and white internal background. The rug is in very good condition and, as it is antique, it is not perfectly aligned, as seen in the photos, quality as it is not a rug made for the market. Wool on wool, 169 x 107 cm.
