This is a beautiful and large, enrolled, Drotops armatus spiny trilobite,of the order Phaecopida, discovered in Merakib, Alnif, Morocco.
It dates from the Devonian Period, 360 million years old.
The trilobite is large, and has a profusion of spines all over its body, including the eyebrows.
The preservation is superb.
It has been prepared over many painstaking hours, using the latest micro-abrasion techniques to develop the spines from the matrix.
The eyes display the multifaceted lenses typical of the creature.
This fossil is rare, and of superior quality, without restoration.
The Trilobite is beautifully displayed on its original matrix.
