A high-quality Japanese (Kyoto Prefecture) Kiyomizu-'yaki' mottled green and brown glazed 'Han tsutsu gata'-shaped winter tea bowl ('chawan') meant for the green-tea ceremony ('sencha'), Taisho/Showa, ca 1925, ca 7.3 cm. high and 8.8 cm. Ø.
The outer wall relief decorated with stylized characters, in excellent condition, with original signed and inscribed wooden 'tomobako'.
