A two-panel byobu-screen with six old Edo period paintings and poems of the Rokkasen.
The Rokkasen where a group of poets from the early Heian period mentioned in the Imperial Waka-poem Anthology Kokinshū.
The six individual paintings are pasted on the screen (of a later date) on a paper background. Paintings have scratches due to age and use. Each painting is 40 cm high and 27 cm wide.
The screen has a black lacquered wooden frame and a nice blue floral brocade border.
The backside is in good condition but has some marks of wear, see photo's.
This kind of roomdivider is light in weight and can also be easily mounted flat on a wall.
