Wasted Talent, 2016

Nibor Reiluos moved to NYC for year in 2005. Photographer and graffiti enthusiast, he would walk every street in Manhattan. He came back to Paris in 2006 with over 800 different doors in his collection. 10 years later, in 2015, he decided to go back to 200 of these addresses to take pictures again. He eventually kept 99 to create this book.
For the first time a book focused on tags documents their evolution over time in the same place. Ten years later, we can see that 100% of the participants are different, but also that the styles have evolved.
On this short scale, these photos reveal that the city has changed, it has mutated, everything is cleaner, smoother, gentrified. This book of photographs will delight lovers of pure Graffiti, architecture or urbanism.
