A prime example of antique handmade Chinese wool Ningxia rug in the rare sandy red field arranged with five writhing dragons around flaming seed-pearl and cloud-band motifs, in a polychrome wave, cloud and mountain border (shoushan fuhai), Measuring 280 x 189cm (9' x 6') this rug has been professionally restored, cleaned and washed and has minor localised areas of wear but generally in very good condition considering its age, both end fringes trimmed and secured with slight yellow colour in the reverse of the rug but no effect on the rug at all. Very sought after and attractive piece.
