Refined and rare trumpet vase in silver and ivory, with rich shibayama decoration in mother of pearl tortoise and coral. The silver is decorated with polychrome enamels.
The handles represent phoenixes.
The vase measures 21 cm, an exceptional size in relation to similar objects.
Signed Shomei under the base.
In excellent condition overall, with wear consistent with age. No noticeable flaws in the decoration.
A Japanese item from the Meiji period.
