Franka - Dédicace in "Strips in Stereo" - First edition - (2006)

Commission drawing in "Strips in Stereo". I remember this book as the alibi for a fantastic evening in Paradiso: 14 comic artists adapted a favourite song to a comic, after which nearly all artists played that song live! The accompanying book had the nostalgic square size and cover-like appearance of an LP, but also contained the collection of singled on a then very modern CD.

The punchline of this illustration is the simultaneous listening to the same record on two car radios: in 1958, somewhere in the Midi, the French summer hit of that year: "Hello, le soleil brille". (hum the River Kwai March, we used to sing "schele, zie jij die vliegmachien?")
