Beautiful contact printed platinum photograph by Ray Bidegain (b. 1959 Kansas, USA). This spectacular photograph was contact-printed from the original 8”x10” in-camera negative.
Signed, dated and numbered “#2” under image on hand coated Arches Platine 310 paper.
With solo exhibitions throughout the US and in the permanent collections of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and Portland Art Museum, his work is often compared to Ruth Bernhard, Edward Weston and Imogen Cunningham. Bidegain’s platinum technique is outstanding and this print has fantastic tonal range.
Platinum is, of all forms of photography, the most luminous, archival and rare. Although difficult, time consuming and costly to create, platinum prints are the sine qua non of photographic art. This is one of only a handful of prints made and by the very nature of the process, each platinum print is unique. Bidegain’s work is in collections worldwide and retail for this print would be over €400.
Purchased directly from the artist in 2004.
This print will be sent by Express Courier.
