Up for auction is a re-edition of the Computron LED Black Edition Quartz, created in 1976, today a limited edition with only a few specimens reproduced.
Bulova, which first arrived – albeit unofficially – on the Moon in 1971 via a prototype on the wrist of astronaut David Scott during the Apollo 15 mission. This curious timepiece was made in 1976, with a strange shape and digital clock: the Compturton LED. Truly innovative and with a design that, at the time, left everyone amazed, the completely closed trapezoidal case showed the time on a vertical display, so in order to read it, you needed to turn your wrist.
