Kokeshi are wooden handmade artisanal dolls from Japan. The most prevalent theory is that they appeared during the Tempo period (1830 - 1843) in the mountainous Tohoku region. Initially, they were intended as toys for the children. Later they became popular souvenirs and real decorative items, for some even collector items.

Heights from left to right: 12 cm, 28,5 cm and 19 cm

Please examine the pictures carefully in order to assess the quality of this kokeshi.

Additional information about the artisan can be obtained upon request after the purchase.
