Gompas are monasteries in Tibet and Ladakh (India) built in isolated places where monks can concentrate on meditation and religious studies. Many monasteries have schools for the education of the little monks who live there. Generally, after morning prayer (Puja), children have some time to play before going to class.
Jacopo M. Della Valle was born in Rome in 1979 and graduated in Scenic Design from the Academy of Fine Arts.
As a freelance travel photographer, he went on many journeys to discover the various ethnic minorities that have survived globalization. His photos have earned him several awards and recognitions including the first place at IPA 2019, 100 BEST PHOTOS of 35AWARDS 2019, ND AWARDS 2019, third place at MIFA 2020, first place at AAP 2020 B&W.
He joined the ‘Atlas of Humanity’ project and was selected for the ‘Atlas of Humanity 2019’ International Exhibition held in Paris.
