Hiroshige: One Hundred Famous Views of Edo - Taschen (2007) XXL
First original edition of 2007, a must for any great collector, out of print and virtually impossible to find.
Impressive book of the prestigious German publishing house Taschen. It comes in an elegant traditional Japanese format with case, fabric hardcovers and double—soft and delicate—pages. The case has an interior wood effect to give it a traditional touch.
One Hundred Famous Views of Edo is a woodblock journey through 19th-century Tokyo and a jewel in the ukiyo-e tradition. This edition reproduces one of the finest complete original sets belonging to the Ota Memorial Museum of Art in Tokyo.
The book is in excellent condition (it only has a discreet tear in the plastic hook to keep the case closed, but it works perfectly anyway, as can be seen in the photographs).
It’s a XXL size with dimensions 42.5 x 34 x 4.50, and 294 pages.
Trilingual edition. English, German and French.
