*When Sanne Sannes (1937) died suddenly and far too soon in 1967, he was a leading photographer in the Netherlands and was about to break through internationally, even though he had only been active as a photographer and filmmaker for eight years. Sannes' central theme is ‘the woman’. Ranging from witch to saint, these women depict emotional moments. ‘They are the embodiment of eroticism as a “field of vision in which all human emotions can be accommodated, in which man becomes aware of something almost instinctive, the game.
