The Miao tribe called LongHorn lives in remote villages in the mountains of Guizhou.
On the occasion of their local festivals, they wear characteristic traditional costumes and voluminous wigs: they wrap their hair in wool, linen threads and the hair of their ancestors around a comb in the shape of a horn.
Jacopo M. Della Valle was born in Rome in 1979, he graduated in Scenography from the Academy of Fine Arts.
As a freelance travel photographer, he went on many journeys to discover the various ethnic minorities that have survived globalization. His photos have earned him several awards and recognitions including first place at IPA 2019, 100 BEST PHOTOS of 35AWARDS 2019, honourable mention at the ND AWARDS 2019 and third place at MIFA 2020.
He joined the ‘Atlas of Humanity’ project and was selected for the ‘Atlas of Humanity 2019’ International Exhibition held in Paris.
