Pictet here proposes several plans for crop rotation: alternating fields between fibrous root plants and plants with a taproot; the different crop rotations depending on whether the soil is light or clay; ploughing theory and the use of fallow fields, etc.
These are dozens of examples of various crop rotations that are stated in detail over a period of 8 years (or 6) round. Very interesting book written in the same experimental vein as those by Daubenton.
Finally, this book answers the crucial question, and more relevant than ever today at the turn of the 21st century: “What is the best way to rotate crops, for the use of the largest number of farmers; seeking to diminish, as much as possible, fallow fields according to the different types of land.”
