Original and rare menu embroidered on silk by Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). Signed on the bottom right.
The menu was made in 1900 for the famous Nice restaurant "La Réserve" which opened in 1862.
This object is of extreme finesse and refinement that perfectly characterize this era and art nouveau.
The embroidery work required many hours of work to get this precision and this rendering, 120 years later the embroidery is in perfect condition, like new! Its golden threads continue to give sparkle and beautiful reflections to this special piece.
The silk is in very good condition and has absolutely no snags, only very slight signs of age are present but remain almost invisible to the naked eye.
I will take great care, pack it safely, and send it by registered mail.
Good luck at auction!
