Hallmarks: Charge: small crafted items from [1, no. 109]: B with crown (Latin letter) above two dots, for Bordeaux from 13/12/1776 to 31/12/1778 [1, NR]; Discharge: profile turned to the left for small crafted items from 1775 to 1780 [1, no. 112]. Master silversmiths: ‘PS’ with two dots on either side of a three-pointed crown (small hallmark) for Patrice Sacriste (master silversmith in Bordeaux from 1759 to 1790). He was an apprentice at Lalanne. [1, p.413]
These silver sugar tongs are typical of Bordeaux productions in the second half of the 18th century. Sugar tongs by Mathieu Bouchon from 1773, from the old coll. David-Weill (No. 3285) remains very close to our model ([1, p.207] and [2, No.440])
