Koen Wessing (1942-2011) was a social documentary photographer. ‘The name Koen Wessing evokes stories. So do his photographs. Life and work are a unity, but also lead an existence of their own. Not a voyeur, not someone who stops by for superficial news gathering, but someone with eyes in his head and a heart in his body'. (P. Terreehorst)
