Hitweek, founded by Fluxus artist Willem de Ridder and journalist Peter J. Muller, was one of the most controversial Dutch underground magazines of the 1960s. The magazine was published from September 1965 to May 1969, after which it became the equally legendary magazine Aloha. Hitweek was the mouthpiece for the ‘hip’ youth of the 1960s and contained numerous articles about pop music, Provo, sex, drugs, comic strips, etc. This volume includes, among other things, the comic strip ‘Witje’ by the artist Theo van den Boogaard, the first comics by Evert Gerardts and some drawings by Bernard Holtrop (Willem).
Of the fourth volume, which runs from 20 September 1968 to 25 April 1969, all (32) issues are offered. Because number 14/15 is a double issue, the total number is 31 copies. Except issue 25, all copies are complete. Pages 9-12 of issue 25 are missing. The magazine are in good to very good condition.
