France - 1920-1949 - Silver plated

Art Deco silver plated cup of the famous silversmith Jean Puiforcat. The stem has a red lacquered bullet placed. The quality is particularly good, the metal is plated with a thick layer of silver.

Jean Puiforcat pure lines and his use of good materials, the elegant precision of his designs made him world famous.

The coupe is signed on the lower side with 'Puiforcat Paris', an 'S' and the square hallmark of Maison Puiforcat with 'EP'.


Jean Puiforcat was the fourth generation in a family of silversmith. Maison Puiforcat is well known among the wealthy elite in Paris.
Jean Puiforcat was also one of the founders of the Union des Artistes Modernes (UAM) in 1928.

Condition: Very good, just the usual signs by age and use, like a few tiny spots on the lacquered bullet.
