Grander begins in the sugar cane fields of Herrara, Panama. The exclusive cultivated sugarcane is harvested and processed into a quality molasses. This molasses undergoes fermentation with a locally grown proprietary yeast. Distilling is done using continuous methods with copper stills. The casks used to age the rum are essential. Grander uses only Kentucky bourbon casks to make the long journey to Panama. These provide the perfect ripening ground for rum to develop its aroma, flavor, color. Patience is the key. They use the oldest traditional method of ageing: Put the rum in the casks and let it rest. Panama's climate provides an intense environment so that rum and barrels can interact. This allows a natural marriage of rum and wood, resulting in the maturation of the most wonderful.
