WELSH MANUFACTURING CO. - Fountain pen - 1

WELSH MANUFACTURING CO. - Fountain pen - 1
U.S. - 1920-1939 - Excellent condition - barely used with minimal signs of aging & wear

This is a wonderful and rare 1930s celluloid pen made by the Welsh Manufacturing Company, which was located in the city of Providence, in the American state of Rhode Island.
The pen is made of a wonderful marbled celluloid with a multitude of colours, among which the deep emerald green stands out. The barrel is perfect without any imperfections. It bears no mark, so the data were taken from the large gold nib marked Welsh Manufacturing Co. This company was founded by James W. Welsh in 1930, it produced pencils, pens and glasses, and it did so until 1970, when it closed down and was absorbed by another company. Pens and pencils were produced for about ten years, then the company specialised in glasses, masks for WWII pilots, and respirators for divers. So, in my opinion, this pen is in excellent condition, it has a rare workmanship and unique beauty. It was completely restored and is in working order, with a new sac and an adjustment to the nib/feed.
