Description
Prehistoric, Paleolithic Flint Paleolithic chopping tool 102 x 87 mm - (1)
Ongeveer 600.000 - 850.000 jaar oud - France

Well-known archaeological site (Pointe-aux-Oies) which was already discovered in 1967.
The choppers from this site are generally made of quite large silex tubers that were found there.

They are associated with an early Homo Erectus and Wiméreux is probably the most Northern occurrence of this industry.
With time, this item has been given a beautiful coloured patina on the flake’s surfaces. The actual colour on the inside of the silex tubers is grey-black, visible in some small damaged places.
