Unterweissbach Porcelain Figurine, Nude Art Deco figurine (Kurt Steiner). Germany
'Nude Girl'
The modeler and designer Kurt Steiner lived and worked in Unterweißbach since around 1930.
As I took from a brochure about Unterweissbach figures, Kurt Steiner also gave lessons at the drawing and modeling school Lichte.
Kurt Steiner has seen many owners, owners, managers and company structures come and go in the course of the eventful history of the porcelain factories in Unterweißbach and Wallendorf.
Regardless of this, the modeler Kurt Steiner managed to influence the figurative porcelain of Unterweißbach and Wallendorf, and indeed of all of Thuringia, for decades.
In his last years he worked in his own studio in his house. There he created his models for the Wallendorfer porcelain factory and the Unterweisbacher workshops for porcelain art.
His last models for Wallendorf were, it looks like, the models with the numbers 1909, 1910, 1913 and 1914, the stage figures Papageno, Papagena, Falstaff and Frau Fluth.
The subsequent models from Wallendorf were made by Heinz Schober , so I assume that he was, so to speak, the successor to the Wallendorf porcelain factory.
