Piet Zwart's photographic oeuvre originated in a period of barely 10 years, but is one of the most important from the interwar period. Its significance is underlined by his photographic theoretical writings and contribution to the international breakthrough of the New Typo and Photography. Piet Zwart was a designer in the broadest sense of the word: textiles and interior design, architecture, photography and graphic design were among his areas of work.
