Napoléon Bonaparte - Lettre Signée - 1802

Description
Napoléon Bonaparte - Lettre Signée - 1802
History, Manuscripts - Quantity: 1 - Autograph letter signed (ALS)

Letter signed BONAPARTE as First CONSUL.

Upon a request of citizen Papillon, former soldier, to citizen LEBRUN Consul.

He is diplomatically asking for a financial resource in view of the zeal and merit of his work on the transformation of the constabulary into the Corps of the NATIONAL GENDARMERIE.
He worked there with citizens TARGET and RABAUT SAINT ETIENNE (guillotined).

TARGET is supporting his request with a mailed 3-line signed autograph at the bottom of the page.

Bourienne writes in the margin:

‘Recommandé au Ministre des Finances
Paris 29 Pluviose AN 10

Le 1er Consul’.

Signed: BONAPARTE.

(The letter was addressed to Lebrun but it is handled by Bonaparte, probably due to the applicant's military history.)
