Manu De Mey was born in Antwerp in 1965, his mother a British artist and his father a Flemish accountant.
With his art, Manu tries to create something visually striking to convey a strong emotion. Manu's world is populated with sad, melancholic people with suppressed emotion, often beautiful but damaged woman.
Manu is only recently starting to come out with his work and has already had several expositions, including the prestigious Accessible Art Fair (ACAF) in the Bozar, Brussels.
The "unfinishedness" of the painting (as seen on the photos) is deliberate and is a signature style of the artist.
The painting comes framed in an black "American" frame.
