This voluminous book was published in 1910 by Holkema & Warendorf in an edition of 325 copies. This is number 58. It is therefore scarce and rarely offered. The translation is by Burgersdijk and the 42 beautiful plates by Arthur Rackham were initially made as watercolours and transferred to the book. The other illustrations are in blue, as well as the text. The atmosphere of these illustrations is in accordance with that period and therefore Art Nouveau and dreamy, like a summer dream. Printed on thick paper. There are some scattered moisture spots. The cover is good, but shows some damage at the edges and the spine. Otherwise a fine copy.
