JUKEBOX AMI A (mother of plastic) 1946

JUKEBOX AMI A (mother of plastic) 1946
JUKEBOX AMI A (mother of plastic) 1946

This jukebox has been restored, all plastic parts are in perfect condition, with great sound.

This magnificent jukebox is affectionately known as the "Mother of Plastics". Built in 1946 by AMI (Automatic Musical Instruments still today as Rowe International), it has become a very rare and highly desired instrument of beauty. Only 12,000 units were produced. In comparison, of the Wurlitzer model "Bubbler" 115,000 were built in the same year. A promotional trick for the AMI "A" jukebox was the placement of a 15-inch loudspeaker at the top of his cabinet, almost 6 feet tall, which gives him the ability to "get everyone in the room", and it was the first machine that can read the "slate discs" on both sides.
