Nahavand: south of Hamadan Province in West Persia lies the city of Nahawand. Nahawand is one of Iran's oldest existing cities. The Nahavand carpets are robust and tend to have a taller pile. They have a certain similarity to Malayer carpets, although the Nahawand has small repeating patterns. The weft is made of cotton and has Turkish knots.
