Stunning gold plated silver box with monogram, made in Paris, between 1917-1920 by VEUVE A. RISLER & CARRÉ
Hallmarks: Minerva first grade (950 silver fineness), Bigorne on the other side, to certify authenticity and "Vve.R.&.C. star and a square /une étoile et un carré" - Maker mark of Veuve a Risler & Carré. Both pieces of the box are full hallmarked
Risler & Carré were active as "Orfevres-Joailliers" in the Rue du Faubourg, Saint-Honoré 16 in Paris. The company was founded in 1897 by André Risler and Georges Albert Carré and specialised in fine silverware and jewellery. Risler & Carré received a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900 and a "Grand Prix" award at various subsequent World Exhibitions. André Risler died unexpectedly on 1 October 1912 in Paris at the age of 49. His widow took over the company and founded the company "Veuve A. Risler & Carré"
