Porsche - 928S - Manual - 1983

The 1983 Porsche 928 S equipped with the very desirable 5-speed manual transmission is featured here in black, with a burgundy interior and genuine later-model 17” wheels.

This black Porsche comes equipped with the legendary 4.7L S engine in EU spec: 300hp and 385nm of 80s Porsche fury. This engine revs with anger all the way to 6100rpm, pushing the car from 0-100kmh in just 6.6s The 928 S was a supercar of its era and cost 26% more than the base-model 928 back in the 80s.

The body of this 928 looks great for a 37 year old car and comes with the original “S” front and rear spoilers. It is worth noting that the car has been resprayed in its original black color several years ago. It has a small dent on the front bumper (passenger side, see gallery).

This V8 Porsche is free of any frame damage or rust, and has been garage-kept for many years.

The interior of the car is in acceptable condition, although it shows the signs of being used in a warm climate. The front seats are in perfect condition, but the rear seats have some leather tears. The dashboard is cracked (see gallery). The sunroof and driver window open with difficulty, although both electric motors work.

Recent maintenance include a new clutch, alternator and power steering pump (3500€+). After changing the clutch, the second and third gears started grinding on down-shifts. This has not been diagnosed yet: it could need a clutch adjustment (better case) or new synchromeshes (worst case). Finally, the AC does not blow cold at the moment.

Despite these flaws, this vehicle drives any distance and is used on a regular basis. It has been maintained regularly by independent Porsche mechanics, although no papers or service history are available.

The car was initially sold in the UK as a left-hand drive car (hence the odometer in Miles) and was later imported into Spain. It regularly went through the Spanish technical inspection and is now valid until 2021.
