A beautiful imaginative pencil drawing made by Jean Dulieu (pseudonym of Jan van Oort) in 1990. The work clearly shows that Dulieu was in a gloomy period of his life while making it. The scenery looks mysterious, even eerie.
Made with very fine details,
This type of work is hardly known and certainly not available in stores.
Personal work by Dulieu has only recently gone public.
Apart from Paulus, he also drew lots of other things that had nothing to do with the famous comic. Actually, he was always drawing. Travel sketches, animal and landscape studies, fantasy work, etc. A passionate artist, who often had to draw to get out of his depression. This work is characterised by an overbearing sense of gloom.
His free work was first exhibited during the large Dulieu exhibition at the Dutch Comic Museum in Groningen.
Note the incredible detail in this work.
The drawing will be carefully packaged and sent by registered post.
