Illustrations 73 and 74 have been originally used as frontispiece in volumes I and II, so are missing here.
Illustrations with ceremonies, Pantheon of the Gods, though also animals (birds, fish in the Nile), temple figures and columns etc.
In reasonable to good condition. New soft red linen bindings and flyleaves in ivory. The book blocks are in reasonable to good condition. The paper and illustrations are mostly fresh. The page edges are slightly dirty on top.
'Sir John Gardner Wilkinson (5 October 1797 - 29 October 1875) was a renowned British traveller, writer and pioneer of egyptology in the 19th century. Often called the ‘father of English egyptology’.
