First edition of this original treatise on Angelology of the "Dottore Estatico", Dionysius Cartusianus, in which the nature and attributes of the angels and their hierarchies are discussed.
Under the influence of the Kabbalistic school of Girona, a large collection of information related to the individual personalities and influences of angels and demons developed in the Middle Ages, whose qualities are often linked to the very name of each entity. Dionysius summarizes and formalizes them in this treatise.

Dionysius Cartusianus, a popular 15th-century Tomist theologian, exegete and mystic, called Denis il Certosino (1402–1471), also known as Denys van Leeuwen, Denis Ryckel, Dionysius van Rijkel.
He is known as "Ecstatic Doctor". The Catholic Church recognizes him with the title of venerable. In some local martyrologists he is celebrated as blessed on March 12.
