A bit of history: Alinghi is the Swiss team that won the 2003 and 2007 America's Cups. Its owner is the entrepreneur Ernesto Bertarelli, former CEO of the multinational pharmaceutical company Serono. The name "Alinghi", which Ernesto and his sister Donatella (also a sailor) had invented during the holidays in Monte Argentario, comes from a word Bertarelli used during childhood when playing with his sister inventing a language incomprehensible to adults. The name is still used for other boats owned by Bertarelli
