Extensive fragment of an early incunabulum in contemporary or slightly later blind-stamped pigskin binding over wooden boards. Gothic text ‘Aug[ustinus] de Ci[vi]tat[e] Dei’ on front cover, on spine ‘D Aureli Augustini Librorum Pars VII’.

Text rubricated by hand in red and blue. Various contemporary marginal glosses, original static parchment bookmarks. Leaves are loose, partly still bound in quires.

Publisher's imprint: Hoc opus exactu[m] divina arte Joannis Amerbacensis (...) Anni salutiferi viriginalis partus octogesimonono supra millesimi quater centesimi Aedibus februarijs (13 February 1489).
