Hans G. Kresse - Formaat: 49 x 72 cm. - Very good - 1 Original artwork

Hans Kresse is the unrivalled most important comic artist in the Netherlands. The year of 2021 will be dedicated to this master; it is the year of his 100th birthday and Eric de Noorman turns 75.

In the mid-1950, Kresse began making colour illustrations for magazines such as Panorama and Revue. These were usually large prints that were printed over two pages.

In the 1960s, television was still in its infancy. In 1961, Revue magazine wanted to explain to its readers how a broadcast came about and asked Kresse to take on this task for issue #32. For that purpose, he painted this large illustration that depicts the workings of a studio in more than a dozen scenes, resulting in a detailed, amusing plate. Even Kresse himself can be seen.

This large illustration of 49 x 72 cm is painted in gouache on cardboard and is in very good condition. Illustrations from Revue, especially in this size, are rarely offered.
