Early edition of Klopstock's most important work. It contains an “Ode an seine Majestät Friedrich den fünften, König in Dännemark und Norwegen”.

In magnificent marbled calfskin binding with richly gilded rococo borders on the front and back covers; the spine is professionally reinforced with authentic goatskin to form a whole with the boards; the original spine leather (covering the goatskin) has a crack in the middle; the content is complete; all edges gilt; interior clean and crisp; compact and solid; with engraved frontispiece; owner's entries on the blank front endpaper; two library stamps on the title page; with owner's mark (ex-libris) of Hans Hartvig Seedorff Pedersen, a Danish lyricist and poet; included are two sheets of handwritten text (see picture)
