Bowman 0-Gauge - 3rd/1st class passenger carriage.
Running number: 10152.
Belongs to a Bowman Set with a locomotive and 2 carriages. Set number 23455.
See elsewhere in this auction for the corresponding carriages.
In the early 1930s Bowman was marketed as a 'Garden Railway' with extremely robust rails.
Built out of wood and tinplate. Fairly original condition, although it may be that the brass wire that is laid across its length was applied later. The paint on the roof has been damaged, it seems to have been sanded.
Please note: One buffer is missing. All doors open and have original working latches. Anyway considering the period (The set dates from 1931) it reflects much English handicraft. Length: approx. 41 cm, Width: approx. 9 cm.
