Very seldom come across heavy cavalry sabre of artillerymen. Not to be confused with the M 1829 gunners sabre. Please see photos for more details.
Solid brass knuckle-bow hilt, the handle is covered with leather, it no longer has most of the wrap. The hallmarks have vanished. Manufacturer and year on the back of the blade, as well as on the ricasso. Total length of the sabre 1.10 m, blade length 92 cm, with this you can already see the difference to a gunner’s sabre.
Slightly curved, solid single-edged blade with a forward curve and fuller on both sides, superficial age spots and general signs of wear and tear. Solid iron scabbard with two suspension loops. A beautifully shaped, significant and historical sabre.
