Gerard van Spaendonck (Tilburg, Netherlands 22 March 1746 – 11 May 1822).
He was a disciple of Herreyas in Antwerp and later moved to Paris, when he had already acquired just renown as a painter of flowers and fruits. In the capital of France he was painter of the king and professor of iconography of the Garden of Plants, becoming of the Academy in 1781.
His works, sometimes confused with those of van Huyseur, are in the Louvre, Angers, Montpellier, Fontainebleau.
