First edition of this rare books on non-electric lighting, sought after for the rich iconography and especially for the text by the decorative arts specialist Henry d’Allemagne (1863-1950), known for his innovative studies on many subjects rarely studied at the time (locksmithing, lighting, playing cards, etc.)

The beautiful iconography includes 24 tipped-in plates, 2 of which are in colour and many illustrations in the text.

Copy bound in its pink canvas publisher’s soft binding.

Copy in very well-preserved condition, spine slightly sunned, canvas rubbed on the joints. Impeccable inside.
