A very lovely edition for bibliophiles, illustrated with 10 original colour etchings by the painter and engraver Joëlle Serve, including 6 full-page and 4 in text etchings. Unique limited edition of 195 numbered copies on Rives vellum paper, this one bears the nominative number 47.
Introduced by his grandfather to the secrets of the freshwater navy, Guy de Pourtalès (1881-1941) shares his anecdotes with us through tales of voyages on lakes, rivers and streams, "at the mercy of the wind".
Joëlle Serve's colourful etchings in surreal and sometimes naïve tones are a delightful addition to these stories.
