The book consists of a preface by Rachele Mussolini, the dictator's second wife, who died 3 years after the book (1979) and signed by Duilio Susmel, the famous biographer and journalist and publisher of the book.
The common thread of the work is a series of conversations between Father Eusebio who transcribed the conversations he had with the Dictator at the request of his widow.
These transcribed conversations are dated and placed in context with the declassified files of the Washington State Department (Microfilm T 586, Roll 1048)
It is an edition of 1,499 copies and this is number 355 given to Benito Mussolini's grandson, Vittorio Mussolini.
Made of high grammage paper, silk at both ends and two bronze plates on two sides.
