This practical book was a great success. It describes in detail the operation
of a farm, the cultivation of flowers, vegetables and fruit trees, as well as
the breeding of all domestic animals, the hunting of pests and game, traps,
fishing, as well as jam making, alcohol production and cooking in general.
Louis Liger (1658-1717) was a French agronomist who joined in the tradition of Charles Estienne, the author of “Maison Rustique”.

with each new edition.

Period marbled full sheepskin bindings, ribbed spines adorned with title and volume number labels, gilded embossing, red edges.
Sound volumes, significant restoration on the spine, crowns and corners. Some rare foxing. In Volume 1: soiled title page, water stains on about 30 leaves at the front and back of the work, but nothing serious. In Volume 2: significant water stains with loss of paper in the text of the title page and the pages of the table as well as the first 8 leaves of text, light water stains in the inner margin of the last leaves. The rest is in good condition.
